Redefining communication strategies in times of rapid societal and consumer need change through benchmarking
Approach:
In for example the UK in the period 2015 – 2018 the number of vegan consumers have gone up with 700%, even when starting from a low base. These consumers challenge the ethics of other consumers of animal products such as proteins (meat, dairy), partly by stressing the animal husbandry industries’ contribution to global warming, without mentioning the impact that the production and consumption of replacement non-animal products would have on the world’s environment and at what (consumer) cost such transition would take place. Strategic Analysis Services BV consulted the animal protein customer in its defining of effective consumer communication strategies by offering best practices from other industries that had faced similar challenges in response to other consumer need shifts.
